Workshop: End-to-End Automation with Protractor (for Beginners)

If you’re new to Selenium test automation, or even if you’ve already conquered it, in this half day workshop you’ll learn end-to-end testing with one of the most popular Selenium based automation frameworks – protractor! The protractor npm has been downloaded over 1.5 million times, just last month! Although designed to work with Angular, it’s also widely used for non-Angular apps as well.

Learning how to automate with protractor has its challenges. You must be comfortable with JS, async programming concepts, odd configurations, integration between the framework, WebDriverJS, and applying best practices to your tests, to just name a few.

In this workshop, open to beginners and experienced automation engineers, but new to protractor, plain and simple, you’ll learn from Peter Kim, an experienced “technology coach”, who enjoys helping others successfully and confidently learn test automation and apply what they learned, from his workshops, in their career.

Workshop Takeaways:

  • Nodejs Basics
  • Basics of npm
  • WebDriverJS basics
  • Test frameworks (mocha, jasmine)
  • Breakdown and dissecting protractor (Control Flow)
  • Writing protractor tests (Jasmine/Assertion libs)
  • Managing your tests
  • Execution and generating Custom Test Reports
  • Automating non-Angular apps
